Year 5 Earthquake Research Report



Research some major historical earthquakes and create a report about one.

Please include:
·         Title
·         What are earthquakes? Where do they most commonly occur?
·         Where did it happen? (county and continent, or ocean area, maybe a map if you have time)
·         When did it happen?
·         What was the Richter scale reading?
·         How far below the Earth’s surface did it happen?
·         Who was affected? (Were people hurt? Were there any fatalities?)
·         Describe the damage caused. (Did the earthquake create other issues?)
·         What could have caused the earthquake? (consider its geographical position in regards to tectonic plates)
·         Any other interesting or significant facts that you would like to include.                 
Please limit the report to two pages (including pictures).
